Where The Wild Things Are

This is a story of Max, who one evening plays around his home, "making mischief" in his wolf costume. As punishment for being too wild, his mother sends him to bed without his supper. In his room, a mysterious wild forest and sea grows out of his imagination, and Max sails in a private boat to the land of the Wild Things which took nearly a year.

The Wild Things are very scary looking with different looking parts, but Max conquers them all "by staring into their yellow eyes without blinking once". It was a neat trick and they all proclaim him "King of all Wild Things" to which he dances with the other monsters in a "wild rumpus".

Max then sends the Wild Things off to bed without their supper and soon finds himself lonely and homesick for someone who loved him the best of all where he returns home to his bedroom and finds his supper waiting for him ... still hot.
